Sports were a big part of my life.  In high school, I was an all-conference football player.  After high school I went to Liberty University on a football scholarship where I graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

I was married for 22 years with two sons when an unwanted divorce devastatingly ended my marriage.  The heartache and depression that followed was the hardest thing I have ever faced.  But God helped me to put the pieces back together and I found a deeper understanding for other’s brokenness as I came to grips with my own.

I began to experience an even deeper faith and renewed sense of God’s calling on my life.  During this time I met Cassie.

We met at our church, Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church.  Our passion for singing, leading worship and writing music was what sparked our interest in each other.  After an extended courtship and much prayer and fasting, we believed God had brought us together for the purpose of serving Him together for the rest of our lives.  We were married on Christmas Eve of 2008.

We live in Stockbridge, GA.  Between us we have four grown children, Mandy, Ryan, Kyle & Kenny and 5 grandchildren, Vanessa, Jacob, Victoria, Lyleigh, Cora and Henry.

I was born in Chicago, IL.  My dad was a football coach so we moved a lot when I was growing up.  At a young age I realized that it wasn’t enough that my parents believed in God.  I knew that at some point I would have to make their faith my own.  So as best I could understand that at age 7, I prayed a simple prayer one night as my parents tucked me into bed.  I prayed, “Jesus come into my heart.”  God heard and answered that prayer.
